The following is a recent (June 2006) response of Practice Engine customer to a series of questions
posed by another US firm considering replacing their
practice management system with Practice Engine
.

Q - Why did you choose Practice Engine?

A - We were faced with a very pricey upgrade of hardware for a product that our firm was outgrowing. Some of the attributes we were looking for and found in PE:

  • Open architecture – Report generation was painful with the old product and involved submitting requests to developers. It is VERY easy to create/update reports within PE environment.
  • PE’s overall company vision is one that doesn’t tie itself to a particular suite so firms/users have the flexibility to use a best of breed or other products they are already comfortable with
  • We wanted to incorporate some additional features beyond the basic Time & Billing
    CRM capability
    Due date tracking
  • Willingness of PE to work with our needs/vision
  • Desire to integrate other products with PE
  • We were looking for a fully web based solution.

Q - Have the users and management been satisfied with PE?

A – Partners love the flexibility of reporting and portfolio views. It’s easy for them to export reports and portfolio views into excel for custom manipulating. Requests for new reports or impromptu reports are also very easy to satisfy. They also often take advantage of billing from home or on the road. Staff enjoy both the simplicity as well as the ability to work with a solid web-based system.

Q - Is the application robust, stable?

A - This has never been an issue in our environment. We have had no downtime of the application in the 4+ years we’ve been running it. Any application error we’ve ever had has been solved with a simple reboot. (Not kidding)
